Missions

Missions at Valley Ridge Church

Love God,

Serve People,

Share the Gospel.

At Valley Ridge Church, we believe missions begin with a simple commitment: see a need and meet it. Whether across the street or across the globe, our calling is to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Our ultimate goal is more than meeting practical needs; it’s sharing the hope of the Gospel. Every meal served, every hand extended, and every prayer offered is an opportunity to point people to the life-changing love of Jesus Christ.

We invite you to join us—look for the need in front of you, step into it with love, and tell the story of the Savior who meets our deepest need.

Hope Behind
the Walls

Sharing the love of Jesus with youth in our local detention center.

This ministry brings the hope of the Gospel to youth at the local detention center through weekly one-hour Bible studies. Students range from ages 10–17 and are housed in “Pods” of up to twelve, with one or two staff members always present. Currently, seven Pods are in use—seven unique opportunities to open God’s Word and share His love.

Local Opportunities

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. We support OCC every year by packing shoebox gifts that reach out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Christian Community Action

Christian Community Action is a local mission ministry that ministers to the less fortunate by providing comprehensive services that alleviate suffering, bring hope, and change lives.

Heart of the City

Heart of the City Lewisville is a Christ‑centered nonprofit that provides free food, clothing, and life‑skills programs to South Denton County residents, demonstrating its mission of “Compassion Lived Out” through practical support and volunteer service.

Partnership

Valley ridge partners with over 5300 Texas churchES for mission and ministry.

At Valley Ridge, we are proud to partner with Texas Baptists  to extend our mission beyond what we could do alone. Through this partnership, our local church joins a statewide network of congregations working together to share the Gospel, meet human needs, and transform lives across Texas and around the world.

By linking arms with Texas Baptists, we multiply our reach and impact in ways that one church could never accomplish on its own. Through this cooperative effort, we are part of:

  • Disaster Relief – Providing hope and hands-on help during natural disasters through Texans on Mission.
  • Hunger & Compassion Ministries – Fighting hunger locally and globally through initiatives like the Texas Baptist Hunger Offering.
  • College Outreach through Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) – Partnering with BSM chapters, including those at UNT and TWU, to share the Gospel, disciple students, and raise up future leaders for Christ’s mission.
  • Community Ministries – Supporting initiatives that serve refugees, vulnerable families, and at-risk communities with the love of Christ.
  • Education & Leadership Development – Investing in Christian higher education and ministry training for the next generation of leaders.

Through this partnership, our church is able to make a difference far beyond our walls, living out our calling to “find a need and meet it” while boldly sharing the hope of Jesus.

International Trips

We plan several trips throughout the year to support our missionaries serving in international locations. Our two main trips are to Guatemala and France. We will update this page as the dates for these trips are confirmed.
